Baking Apple Pie In A Brown Paper Bag. Do Not allow the bag to touch the sides of the oven or the heating elements. Sprinkle with cold water a couple of tablespoons at a time mixing the dough together lightly with a fork until it barely holds together.
Bag must be placed on rack in center of the oven above heating element. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Temperature may vary so check bag.
Sprinkle over apples to cover top.
Place the pie in its bag on a baking sheet which will make it easier to handle. Fold down or staple bag closed. Brush the crust with egg wash and top with sugar. Place pie in large brown paper grocery bag.
